The Monroeville Garden Club was treated to a wonderful and delicious Christmas luncheon on December 12, 2024, at the home of Emilie Martin. Hostesses were Emilie Martin, Faye Estes, Martha Moorer, and Ann Pridgen.
Members were greeted upon arrival with the wonderful aroma of soup and the beautiful display of desserts of all kinds. Gorgeous decorations adorned each room, and the table of desserts and beverages was an elegant setting of crystal and silver dishes displaying scrumptious candies, cakes, cookies, cheese straws and nuts. Coffee, hot spiced tea and water were the drinks of choice. Four different soups with cornbread muffins gave each member a choice of taste! And tasty were they all: Chicken Tortilla, Turnip Green, Shrimp and Crab Bisque, and Italian.
Pastor Patrick Herring, June’s husband, presented the Christmas Story to us, closing with a joint singing of a Christmas hymn: “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. (Side note: Pastor Herring has a beautiful voice!!)
Needless to say, this meeting definitely set the stage for the Christmas spirit for all the garden club members.
Thank you hostesses and Pastor Herring so much!!
Merry Christmas.
Emanuel
