The Monroeville Garden Club met on September 10, 2026, at the Presbyterian Church. Sammye Long and Jean Singleton were the hostesses.
Laura Bodiford, new Garden Club President , called the meeting to order. After distributing the 2026-2027 agenda, members read the Collect and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
New business was discussed: December 10, 2026, Christmas Buffet at the Vanity Fair Golf and Tennis Club with a $25.00 plate fee; Claudia Swift and Sherrie McKenzie welcomed as new members, Karen Robinson as guest ; 2 travel days-one to Camden in November and Atmore in March to the Atmore Garden Center; the need to sign up for hostess vacancies; town square responsibilities concerning flower pots.
Refreshments were served during the meeting: chocolate, egg custard, and pecan pies, cheese cookies and water.
Beautiful fall arrangements by Bev Colquett adorned the serving table and round tables - Thanks, Bev, for such a kind and lovely treat.
Although there was no formal program, members enjoyed coming back together to continue the year’s planning and to join in a plant swap- after which the meeting was adjourned.
The October meeting will be held on October 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church.
