The Monroeville Garden Club met on October 6, 2026, at the Monroeville Presbyterian Church. Hostesses were Dianne Bond and Charlotte Lambert. After Charlotte opened the meeting with prayer, members enjoyed delicious treats: carrot cake, snack trail mix, tea or water. Fresh fall flower bouquets adorned the food table and surrounding guest tables.
Grace Johnston presented a delightful and informative program with slides: Stewardship of the Land. Members were instructed on how to take care of our natural resources for future generations. We were schooled concerning helpful and harmful plants and about the nutrients gardeners need for replenishing the soil. God calls us to be stewards of the land: Genesis 1:28.
The importance of natural composts was described in providing needed fertilizer and organic matter for our garden.
Ann Pridgen read committee reports and gave everyone a printed report sheet. The rose garden looks good but needs “deadheading” and weeds need pulling around the square. Travis Waller needs to be paid. All thought that the library sign and yard looked great!
We welcomed Mary Kreschek and Ben Smith as guests.
The meeting was adjourned.
